About me
I am a petrologist who studies how the properties and processes of melts, magmas and minerals affect planetary features. My research involves conducting experiments to provide quantitative information that can be applied to natural phenomena and the study of natural samples.
I am particularly interested in the rheology of silicate and carbonate melts, and in diffusion and its effect on planetary dynamics.

Even trace amounts of hydrogen can affect the properties and processes of materials, such as the viscosity of melts or the explosivity of volcanic eruptions. Hence, a major focus of my research is the role and behaviour of hydrogen in geomaterials, particularly its transport by diffusion. During my postdoctoral research in Munich, I deepened my understanding of silicate and carbonate melts and glasses while expanding my research to include studies on viscosity and the glass transition.
